History
The idea was came from Achmad Ferdi Iskandar, known as dedicated person over the years to the
Indonesia flight simulation community and has successfully to build
other VA previously, who decided to build a structured
organisation, educated and professional. Namely
by setting up a Virtual Airline and dedicated only for International virtual
pilot in IVAO network. Virtual Airlines it self named Garuda Indonesia Virtual,
where there is sub-airlines which is operated in real world aviation. With
support from jBussemaker Web Development, Kevin Susanto as ACARs developer & Sunardi Handoko as dedicated staff, the idea have to become reality and the project
began in early June 2011.
Garuda Indonesia Virtual is a simulation of an real world and national airline in Indonesia, has a career levels ranging from Junior First Officer to higher rating. Flight routes from their respective airlines adopted from real-life aviation, and use the booking system as well as timetable. To provide member convinience, Garuda Indonesia Virtual using simple logging system based on IVAO to record your flights. The organization is run by staff with volunteer, including the professional worker who aviation enthusiast, real active pilots and the young fellow. With the establishment of Garuda Indonesia Virtual, we hope Indonesia simmer community in will grown even larger and become one bigest community that ever existed in Indonesia.
At January 2012, Achmad
Ferdi Iskandar maintain his position as Garuda Indonesia Virtual President and
lead 9 dedication staff and more than 150 member. We have collected more than
9000 Pilot Report (PIREP) using GIV ACARs & logged system from 150 Indonesia & International member. Later in January, Garuda Indonesia
Virtual decided to move to other server which is more reliable for virtual
airline activity and we back to normal activity in January 24th 2012. This
decision was to provide our best services for members. Several changes to our
policy & we now use the entry exam system for new member registration to improve our member quality.
New staff recruitment in
February 2012 & we continue to improve our membership area, flight schedule
system and we recruit 2 daily manager which is a breakthrough for the virtual
airline activity to maintain and improve our system performance. We also continue
our affiliation with IVAO Indonesia and other aviation community. We are still
committed to give more than "only" another virtual airline for our
member. Pilot must be online to logged their hours with us. This decision has
never been change until now.
In March 2012 Nanda Arfianda Iskandar join us as GIV Executive & Chairman of the Board. Nanda well-known as a successful VA owner with MVI as President & Founder. He will help us to improve our quality in general, monitoring of VA progress, resolve disputes within the VA operation, manage relations between staff department issue, take responsibility on the VA development & progress and once again, both our president & chairman will push their creativity to the limit.
